About Me
It all started in Greece.
I spent two crazy weeks on a tour through the Greek Islands with a handful of Australians. I made some great friends and planned on visiting them in Australia for my next big vacation. Somehow my vacation turned into a yearlong working holiday.
I’m a 26-year-old girl from Florida. I love the ocean, good food and beer. Australia seems like the perfect fit.
I’m hoping by documenting my day-to-day adventures, struggles and culture shock, I’ll not only amuse a few people but also show it’s possible to leave life behind for a year. Plus I needed a forum for keeping everyone back home jealous!

If we don’t offer ourselves to the unknown, our senses dull. Our world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. Our eyes don’t lift to the horizon, our ears don’t hear the sounds around us. The edge is off our experience, and we pass our days in a routine that is both comfortable and limiting. We wake up one day and find that we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days.

Thanks for your visit to my site. I’ll forgive you your questionable college football allegiances. For now.
Enjoy the year down here. I’m here for the long run, and am thrilled about that. I feel more at home here then I ever did ‘at home’.
